All broadcasters need cable. DSL won't cut it.

I don't think that's an issue. I've been using DSL since 2002 and was using the service as a DJ. Never encountered any problems.

I know of one other person who had a prob with DSL but it was likely that he was too f***ing stoopid to own a PC.

What started as an innocent phone conversation - turned into something more than we bargained for. I can tell ya, from my experience - ALOT has to go into a webstation. Way more than most folks are willing to give.

There are a ton of variables you have to deal with. Hell, at least a third of the time I'd be broadcasting I was trying to help 1-3 others troubleshoot the line so they could tune in. Some folks just didnt have the know-how or hardware to do so.

Granted - I wasnt around as a broadcaster *nearly* as much as the rest of AR. I think the endless problems got to me and I left it to chance without saying anything. I really have no excuse. Having done it once all on my own - I guess I really was just burned out to some degree. Which demoted me (if you can call it that) to a 'special' guest DJ. hehe

I do know that NB and the boys put lots and lots of energy into getting that f***er up and going. Twice over at least. They are to be commended for their work.


If you think you have the time, energy and patience to keep the feed alive - I salute you. And I surely wouldnt discourage you from trying. But Ill will give a simply word of warning. Theres ALOT more to it than you'd, at first, think.

I loved AR - I'd love to see it revived - I wish I could do it myself. Unfortunately I have too much going on outside this computer right now to devote myself to it. But - I would be willing to foot some of the bill if a group of folks really put the pedal down.

Ill keep an eye out. =)

Yes we can do a big ol WMA conference call over the net - you guys should grab mr Skype - its free. Its got excellent sound quality. We can all chat, drink and act like idiots. Whats not to like?!
